Poem a Day Challenge #4

Laurie gives us the start and end – we provide the juicy bits.

I do not have anything to say about my body
the world already gives me reasons to doubt my body.

I have weighed between three-fifty and one-sixty and each
spectrum end all people feel free to shout at my body.

I have run 5ks, ridden 50ks, created life
and still strangers feel free to judge and discount my body.

There is no size that I can be that will satisfy them.
“Just be healthy!” But I am! Please stay out of my body.

My own diet is not up for your interpretation
and your misguided concern does not surmount my body.

I am more than your personal self-hate – I am Margaret.
But in any case, that’s how I feel about my body.
